How to Strengthen Your Immune System

If you’re wondering whether your immune system is up to par, you’re not alone. Strong natural defenses are critical – now more than ever. Where is your white blood cell count, or WBC? If it’s suddenly elevated, you may be dealing with a pathogen – a virus, bacterium or another disease-causing microorganism. Below WBC are listed a long with their job.
Lymphocytes – If your levels are high, you may be fighting a viral infection, which would likely not respond to antibiotics. There are two main types of lymphocytes: B cells, which produce antibodies, and C cells, which eliminate infected cells and cancer. In addition, lymphocytes also include Natural Killer cells of the early defense system known as the innate immune response.

Honey is a biologic wound dressing

Did you know?

Honey is a biologic wound dressing with multiple bioactivities? Each of the healing-promoting activities can be found separately in pharmaceutical products, but in honey they are all present and work together synergistically to enhance the healing process. How Pollen affects us

Did you know?

When pollen particles enter through your nose, eyes or mouth, your immune system springs into action? Immune cells start producing protein particles called anti-bodies.
These anti-bodies are similar to pitchforks. They pick up the pollen and transport it over to the nearest white blood cells. Upon contact, your white blood cells immediately release a class of chemicals called “histamines.” These histamines trigger your body to start itching, watering, sneezing and wheezing in an effort to expel the pollen from your body through your eyes, nose and mouth.

The Sweet Side of Healthy

What is raw honey? It’s a pure, unfiltered and unpasteurized sweetener made by bees from the nectar of flowers. Most of the honey consumed today is processed honey that’s been heated and filtered since it was gathered from the hive. Unlike processed honey, raw honey does not get robbed of its incredible nutritional value and health powers. It is believed that the processing and pasteurization that regular honey undergoes diminishes many of the beneficial elements. Thus, it is believed that because of this, raw honey provides more health benefits than pasteurized/ processed honey.
Processed honey undergoes a pasteurization process. This means manufacturers have heated it to reduce the moisture content, delays crystallization, and destroys yeast cells, enhances shelf life, and make it look more transparent and attractive. However, pasteurization may adversely affect the number of nutrients in the honey. It is pretty safe to assume that any ultra-filtered honey on store shelves is Chinese honey and it’s even safer to assume that it entered the country un-inspected and in violation of federal law.
