Serrapeptase for Reducing Pain and Inflammation

Serrapeptase for Reducing Pain and Inflammation

Did you know?

Did you know Serrapeptase is a proteolytic enzyme, meaning it breaks down proteins into smaller components called amino acids? It’s produced by bacteria in the digestive tract of silkworms and allows the emerging moth to digest and dissolve its cocoon.

Researchers in Europe and Japan proposed that serrapeptase was the most effective proteolytic enzyme for reducing pain and inflammation. Serrapeptase has been shown to reduce pain — a common symptom of inflammation — by inhibiting pain-inducing compounds. Serrapeptase is known to have significant pain severity reduction for removal of wisdom teeth, frozen shoulder, and inflammatory ear, nose and throat conditions.

If you are taking it for reducing pain and inflammation, make sure to take it at least two hours away from food, otherwise it is just a very expensive digestive enzyme.
