Saccharomyces boulardii taken orally produces some B vitamins as it becomes established, and crowds out the unfriendly strains of yeast. It is eliminated after supplementation is discontinued. During use, it helps friendly probiotic bacteria to colonize in the GI tract, supporting micro-ecology.
