Texas Baptist Home for Children

Every year the holidays creep up on us earlier and earlier. Everything from Christmas decorations to Black Friday sales are annoyingly earlier every year. We start our celebrating early here at Eterna Health Food Store, but, we have a very good reason as to why.

On November 1st we will be hosting our 7th annual Toy and Essential Needs drive for the beautiful children at the Texas Baptist Home for Children. Join us for Food, Music and Community in support of the children who reside at Texas Baptist Home for Children.

Now, I am going to tell you some back-ground information on the Texas Baptist Home for Children, and why we have chosen to help them.

The History:
In 1908, the Baptist Missionary Association of Texas met to discuss the plight of orphan children in Texas. The decision was made that an Orphanage was a necessity. A committee was chosen to secure a location. The city of Waxahachie donated $1,500.00 and was chosen as the location for Texas Baptist Orphanage. This childcare facility opened its doors in January 1910 shortly after receiving a license from the State of Texas. Since the mid to late 1950’s, the definition of “orphan” changed. Most of the children in care were dependent and neglected children with one or both parents living. In 1964, the name was changed to Texas Baptist Children’s Home to better reflect the population of the campus. The children are no longer housed in a large dormitory, but in cottages to reflect a more home like setting. As Texas Baptist Children’s Home enter a second century of service, it continues provide residential care to children and gives hope and support to those who are facing an unplanned pregnancy. Their adoption services are provided at no cost to the expectant mother.

The Texas Baptist Children’s Home is licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS) and OCOK as a Child Placing Agency. It provides both basic and therapeutic foster care for boys and girls of all ages. Many of the children have been removed from their home by Child Protective Services, and are then in need of love, support and a temporary loving home. So, there are children that are currently waiting in the foster care system where the parental rights of the children, have been terminated. They do have facilities on site to counsel the parents, in hopes of educating and helping to reunite families. They work with children all throughout the state of Texas that need to find their forever home. Most of these children that are waiting are sibling groups larger than 3, older children (average age 9+), and primary medical needs children. They do require all families fostering or adopting to be open to sibling group placements of 2 or more.

This ministry exists to protect the sanctity of human life and to promote the preservation of the family. This purpose manifests itself in preventative, rehabilitative, and specialized services to children, youth, adults and families. The aim of these programs is to enable this ministry, local churches, and the community to meet more effectively the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of individuals and families. Texas Baptist Children’s Home (TBCH) embraces children and families in need in order to empower and equip them for a promising future. Children, and single mothers with their children, who come to TBCH are often lost, hurting, and hopeless, without a place to turn for help during their time of greatest need. Our residential programs provide a safe home and a stable family environment where they can learn, grow, and ultimately experience a happy, healthy future.

Christmas time is a time if you are experiencing great loss, can also be a time of hopelessness. We, at Eterna, truly believe in this organization and helping these children and families. We are very passionate about helping them to not lose hope and help them to feel the power of love and support during this ‘Giving Time’ of year. We do this by having our Toy & Essentials Drive, and having our Angel Tree. We must start early, as the TBCH must receive all items by the first of December to process and allocate all items to each child and their families.

Please come by and pick an angel from the Angel Tree or bring an unwrapped toy or essential needs item (e.g.: socks, pajamas, diapers, toiletries). You can drop off a gift of a toy or essential needs item to Eterna Health Food during our kickoff party or at the latest by Dec 2nd. We realize it is a busy time of year, so if you are unable to buy an Angel Tree gift, you can make a donation and we will do the shopping for you. Please remember, all gifts must be unwrapped when dropped off.

May each and every one of our customers have a most Blessed and Merry Christmas. Please continue to… “LET US BE YOUR DOORWAY TO HEALTH”, whether that is physically, mentally or spiritually.

Nutritional Blood Analysis

blood-analysis-eventDid you know the condition of your blood determines the condition of your health?

Nutritional Blood Analysis is a unique test that’s done with a single drop of your blood placed under a “Live Cell Microscope”. Then your blood is analyzed and points out the health and nutritional status of those blood cells.

The test will educate you on the proper functions of the digestive system, including parasites, bacteria, free radical damage, and liver, lung and colon toxicity.

Then you can discuss any anomalies and deficiencies in the blood, and this can help you to improve your health through proper diet, lifestyle, and supplementation.  Here are some of results that you may find:

  • Plaque & Uric Acid: Plaque and Uric Acid in the blood can lead to issues such as arthritis or heart attacks and strokes.
  • Fungus: Fungus found in the blood can feed off of sugars and alcohol. Excessive fungus can lead to symptoms such as, but not limited to, fatigue, irritability, skin eruptions, depression, hormonal imbalances, and chronic sinus congestion.
  • Liver Stress: Liver stress can be detected by examining the blood. The liver is the filtering system of the body and when it is stressed it can result in toxins, hormonal imbalances and even sleep disturbances.
  • Vitamin B-12, Iron, and Folic Acid Deficiencies: Deficiencies in B-12, iron, and folic acid can all be seen during a live blood analysis. A lack of these essential vitamins and mineral can lead to symptoms such as constant fatigue, nerve damage, shortness of breath, dizziness, or headaches.
  • Parasites: Parasites can lead to many chronic digestive disorders including mal absorption of minerals, amino acids, and essential vitamins
